Prior Events 

2008 Legislative Reception

In the fall of 2008, the MWPC held its first major legislative reception in more than a decade to honor elected women in Memphis at the state level. The caucus partnered with the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis and the Memphis Area Women’s Council, who served as co-sponsor of the event. The reception raised significant contributions, along with gaining several new members.  In attendance were: 

Tennessee House of Representatives Speaker Pro Tem, Lois DeBerry;
Tennessee State Senator Beverly Marrero;
Tennessee State Representative Jeanne Richardson;
Special Guest, TN Supreme Court Justice Janice Holder; and
a surprise visit from former Tennessee State Representative Kim McMillan. 

2009 Membership Dinner

In July of 2009, the Memphis Caucus held our annual Membership Dinner, which included a special visit from Sandra Bennett, President of the Tennessee  Women's Political Caucus, along with Tennessee State Senator Ophelia Ford, and a new collegiate member from Christian Brothers University in Memphis.

Women's Political Workshop

The Memphis WPC is planning to co-sponsor a Political Workshop for women in Memphis in the fall of 2009.  Details are being worked on and will be posted on this page when finalized.
