TN-WPC LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES FOR 2010
- Oppose bills on Mandatory Joint Custody;
- Seek full funding for Coordinated School Health program, which may be slated for cuts in Governor’s budget;
- Support extension, as appropriate, of the work of study committee on infant mortality and teen pregnancy;
- Monitor legislation that impacts access to family planning or other critical women’s health services and adopt positions of support or opposition on appropriate legislation as necessary;
- Monitor legislation that may impact the ability of non-traditional students to utilize lottery scholarship funds to seek higher education; and
- Coordinate with the Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse in order to assist the organization with critical legislation on behalf of domestic violence, rape, and sexual abuse victims.
